This 1970 etching on paper abstracted gestural study is by Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker Barbara Lewis (1925-2008). Lewis studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1943), University of Illinois at Chicago (1967-70), and the IIT Institute of Design (MFA in Printmaking, 1970-72). Through her mixed-media compositions, she explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often using imagery of Chicago and her travels to Europe and Northern Africa.

Signed and dated lower right. Excellent vintage condition. Framed in a contemporary wood frame with a white finish using archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
