Raphael Roig

Entitled Structural, this late 1960s ink and graphite drawing is by Raphael Roig (1923-2014), a Puerto Rican-born artist and architect. He studied at Columbia University, UCLA, and USC, earning master's degrees in architecture, industrial design, and public admin. He became a leading environmentalist for the Air Force and helped design their Academy in Colorado Springs. H∂ lived in Pacific Palisades, CA, where he painted, worked in stained glass, and sculpted in stone and clay. The pieces is the Lost Art Collection come from a small sketchbook Roig kept in the early 1960s.
