Raphael Roig

Entitled Cold Bamboo, this late 1960s ink and graphite abstract is by Raphael Roig (1923-2014), a Puerto Rican-born artist and architect. He studied at Columbia University, UCLA, and USC, earning master's degrees in architecture, industrial design, and public admin. He became a leading environmentalist for the Air Force and helped design their Academy in Colorado Springs. He lived in Pacific Palisades, CA, where he painted, worked in stained glass, and sculpted in stone and clay. The pieces is the Lost Art Collection come from a small sketchbook Roig kept in the early 1960s.

Good vintage condition. Framed in a contemporary wood frame with a hammered silver face and sides using archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
