Entitled Shadow of an Escape, this 1974 abstracted city scene etching is by Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker Barbara Lewis (1925-2008). Lewis studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1943), University of Illinois at Chicago (1967-70), and the IIT Institute of Design (MFA in Printmaking, 1970-72). Through her mixed-media compositions, she explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often using imagery of Chicago and her travels to Europe and Northern Africa.

Signed, dated, and titled at the bottom. Good vintage condition. Framed in a restored vintage wood frame with a black finish using archival matting and spacers behind conservation clear glass.
