Hugh Wiley
This 1957 graphite on paper loose figure drawing is by Northern California artist Hugh Wiley (1922-2013). Wiley studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and in Mexico City under Carlos Merida. He showed at the NYC Bertha Schaeffer Gallery and taught art at California College of the Arts (formerly CCAC) from 1965-1984.

Estate stamped lower right. Excellent vintage condition. Framed in a restored vintage wood frame with a silver inner lip and ornate botanical carve outer edge and black and brushed warm silver finish using archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
