Seymour Tubis
This Mid Century oil painting entitled Head of Christ is by Santa Fe artist Seymour Tubis (1919-1993). Tubis studied at the Art Students League with Hans Hofmann (1946-1949). He exhibited in Paris in 1950 and won praise from Georges Braque. He was Chair of the Fine Art Department at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe (1963-1980).

Initialed upper right; signed, titled and dated on back. Framed in a Mid Century style restored vintage wood frame in a dark grey wash with gold inner lip. Excellent vintage condition.
