Art Framer Position
Email your cover letter and resume to jobs@lostartsalon.com

This is a full-time/hourly position in the Framing Studio ("The Atelier") of our San Francisco art gallery. We are looking for someone who has some substantial experience in fine art framing. This experience may come from places like: working in a traditional retail frame shop; extensive experience framing your own artwork; or working in the framing studio of an art school.

You should already know how to measure frames, cut mats, cut glass, and assemble all the pieces. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with being on their feet most of the day, and very comfortable working with their hands and using hand and light power tools.

One of the things that makes Lost Art Salon so unique is that we frame all of the pieces that we present in the gallery. Our art collection (more than 10,000 pieces) is a combination of historic 20th Century pieces and some contemporary works. Sometimes we use vintage/antique frames that we restore. Other times we order classic contemporary frames. We have a very artful and creative approach to our framing while maintaining archival standards. This is not a a retail frame shop environment where you are frequently working with the public and framing to their specifications. This is a collaborative environment where we work together in a large, bright studio to create the best presentation for each piece.

Much of what we do here is very specific to Lost Art Salon, so you will be learning a great deal. An art background is not required, but enjoying being around art is definitely one of the perks of the job. We are a small team of eight people.

Qualifications:
Experience with fine art framing
Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Basic computer skills and an ability to calculate measurements
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues in a professional manner
Able to lift heavy objects (25 – 50 lbs.) on a continual basis.
Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours per shift.

Lost Art Salon is a very unique place, so please take some time to learn about us and see if our business and mission are aligned with your interests.

Art Shipping & Handling Position
Email your cover letter and resume to jobs@lostartsalon.com

This is a full-time/hourly position in the Art Shipping and Handling department of our San Francisco art gallery. We are looking for someone who has some experience in packing and shipping art, or something similar, such as home decoration items. Previous experience working in an art or home decor warehouse would be a great fit.

This position's emphasis is on Art Shipping and Handling, which means you will be packing and shipping the artwork that we sell through our website. Sometimes preparing a piece to be shipped requires matting and framing (which we can train you to do). We are looking for someone who is comfortable with being on their feet most of the day, and working with their hands.
