Hugh Wiley

This late 20th century watercolor abstract is by Northern California artist Hugh Wiley (1922-2013). Wiley studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and in Mexico City under Carlos Merida. He showed at the NYC Bertha Schaeffer Gallery and taught art at California College of the Arts (formerly CCAC) from 1965-1984.

Initialed lower left. Excellent vintage condition. Framed in a contemporary wood frame with a textured gold finish using archival spacers and matting behind conservation clear glass.
