Schuyler Standish

This late 20th century graphite on paper abstract entitled The Court of Herod - A Study is by Los Angeles artist, violin prodigy, and actor Schuyler Standish (1927-2010). As a child actor, Standish had roles in several Hollywood films during the early 1940s. During WWII, Standish entertained troops during WWII in Bobby Byrne's band. He was an art teacher in Los Angeles for thirty years and exhibited at the Falk-Raboff Gallery in L.A (1954), LACMA (1959), and the Riverside Art Museum (2010).

Signed and titled at the bottom. Good vintage condition, some age-appropriate discoloration on the edges. Framed in contemporary wide-faced wood frame with ornate carvings, gold finish and faux patina detail using museum-style 8-ply archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
