Henry Rutzick
This late 20th century acrylic on canvas abstract is by the artist Henry Rutzik (1915-2007). Born in 1915 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Henry Rutzick embarked on a lifelong artistic journey that would take him across the country and to Europe. In the mid-1930s, he honed his skills in art and architecture at the University of Minnesota, laying the foundation for a diverse creative career. Rutzick's artistic style is distinctly idiosyncratic, characterized by a unique blend of drawing, painting, and sculpture. A devoted follower of the Bauhaus aesthetic, he drew inspiration from traditional Japanese art and the innovative designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.
