Jennings Tofel
This early to mid 20th century ink wash on paper surreal figure scene is by Polish-born New York Expressionist Jennings Tofel (1891-1959). Tofel was a friend of Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz. He received an art grant to work in Paris in the 1920s. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Tofel is known for his allegorical, Expressionist figurative scenes.

Estate stamped on the back. Framed floating in a restored vintage wood frame with carved details, muted gold finish and blue accents using archival matting and spacers behind conservation clear glass. Excellent vintage condition.
