Jennings Tofel
This early to mid 20th century ink on paper minimalist cityscape is by Polish-born New York Expressionist Jennings Tofel (1891-1959). Tofel was a friend of Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz. He received an art grant to work in Paris in the 1920s. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Tofel is known for his allegorical, Expressionist figurative scenes.

Estate stamped on the back. Excellent vintage condition. Framed in a vintage wood frame with black finish and natural wear, using standard 4-ply warm white mat, behind conservation glass.
