Barbara Lewis
Entitled Tigerman Assignment, this mid 20th century oil on canvas geometric abstract is by Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker Barbara Lewis (1925-2008). Lewis studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1943), University of Illinois at Chicago (1967-70), and the IIT Institute of Design (MFA in Printmaking, 1970-72). Through her mixed-media compositions, she explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often using imagery of Chicago and her travels to Europe and Northern Africa.

Fair vintage condition, some wear and paint loss on edges of canvas. Framed in a hand-built lath maple wood frame with a whitewash finish.
