This 1930-60s tempera paint on paper of a woman laying out in the sun is by California artist Forrest Hibbits (1905-1996). Hibbits graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts. He exhibited at SFMOMA, the de Young Museum, the Oakland Museum of Art, and the Legion of Honor. Hibbits worked as a commercial artist at Patterson & Sullivan, a San Francisco ad agency in the 1920s-1930s.
