Eleanor Rappe

Entitled Remembrance of this Things Proust - II, this 1967 monochromatic etching on paper figure scene is by San Francisco artist Eleanor Rappe. Rappe taught printmaking at San Francisco Community College and Fort Mason Printmakers. She has two pieces in the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco collection: "Flying Elephants" and "Rainbow Tower". Eleanor Rappe’s large collagraphs were shown at a Mendocino gallery in 1968-73 owned by Laura Lengyel. Rappe moved to Albuquerque after teaching etching at SF City College, Fort Mason for decades.

Signed, dated and titled at the bottom. Excellent vintage condition. Framed in a contemporary wooden frame with a black finish and floating on warm white archival matting with spacers under conservation clear glass.
