Entitled Marin Headlands, this 2020 oil and colored pencil on paper marin scene is by contemporary Mendocino/Bay Area artist, Gaétan Caron (b. 1964), co-founder of Lost Art Salon in San Francisco. Caron's work is inspired by his surroundings and life in San Francisco and the mountains of inland Mendocino County, Northern California. This piece was sketched with colored pencils en plein-air on Marshall's beach in San Francisco looking out to the Marin Headlands and then finalized with oil in the artist's studio.
